Do you want to try something new?
Are you aged over 50 years?
Are you free on a Tuesday? Then why not join "Haydays", the Byre's exciting project just for your age group.
"Haydays" is a series of participatory arts workshops open to anyone aged over 50 years held during the day every Tuesday, initially from 9.00am until 3.00pm, for approximately forty weeks of each year. Membership costs £20 per year and members can come and go as they please throughout the day, sampling a variety of workshops, talks and activities.
"Haydays" is about offering a chance for anyone aged over 50 years to learn something new, practice a favourite pastime, counter aspects of ageism, exercise mind and body or just to meet like minded people in the relaxed and welcoming surroundings of the new Byre Theatre.

Workshops may include various forms of dance, music, creative writing, play reading, rug making, art classes, craft classes, calligraphy, drama and many, many more.

Haydays members have also contributed to the Byre Theatre's foyer decoration over the past two Christmas seasons.
This shows the life size puppets they made for the run of Pinocchio.
At the end of July 2001 "Haydays" was awarded a Scottish Arts Council, National Lottery Grant of £24,000 to help finance the first three years of the project.
** "Haydays" - We decided to call the project HAYdays as the original Byre Theatre was a converted cowshed.
To join phone the Byre Theatre on 01334 476288 or email Kaye Lynch Haydays Project Co-ordinator.
